Congratulations to the talented British/Nigerian afrobeat music extraordinaire (yup!), Jaye Moni. She was awarded the 'Best Afrobeat Act' for the year 2018. She had this this to say...

Wowww I just woke up and saw this trophy on my bedside table and realised it wasn't a dream 😊😁. So I guess I really won the best afrobeats act of 2018🙌🏾🏆. I am not going to write a sermon but I always wished to inspire those around me to believe in the value of their dreams,no matter how big, small, impossible or unlikely the end game is. That's what the being a ruff diamond is - believing that despite the many outward flaws a jewel lies within (but I'll leave that talk for the EP) I want to thank everybody who has supported me over the last 3 yrs, came to my show, listened to my music, streamed/purchased a song, came to a video shoot, sent me a message of encouragement etc, for in ways you will never know you have enhanced my journey in music and today this success is just as much yours as it is mine. Thank you to everyone who voted for me 🙌🏾🙏🏿 I truly appreciate it. I want to thank my homies. I keep a small circle but if we riding together then it's ROD. You guys are the best, always lifting me up and never letting my head fall, rolling with me for shows here and there, picking me up from disappotments and making sure I keep going. love you guys to the moon n back @edorefaine @the_demond_queens @tahene @tchaik thank you @beats4rmpjay @beeb_30, we started this together in 2015 and we ain't stop grinding since, our day is coming! Thank you to my wonderful family both here and in the UK and in naija. My mum and dad especially, thank you both for allowing my passion for music to grow even from an early age. Thanks to my bros, Abbey n Tobi @twisted_jnr and my right hand girl, my bestie, my ROD and my sis @justdoing_mi. My love for you guys no go die 💯. My dear uncle Yinka, thank you so much. And finally grandpa my darling friend, role model and hero. Nobody believed in my music more than you did, sometimes it felt as thougby you believed in it more than I did. you are the reason i believe in myself so much and I can't wait to bring this award to your house IN Asaba and give it to you because you deserve it more than I do. If there is anyone I have failed to mention please forgive me, abeg no vex 🙈 DM me, I can still re-edit this later😅.
